CAiSE’26 Forum: Call for Papers and Tool Demonstrations
The CAiSE Forum is a space within the CAiSE conference to present and discuss new, exciting research ideas and software tools related to information systems engineering.
The Forum aims to serve as an interactive platform, encouraging (i) the presentation of scientific papers on emerging topics and controversial positions, and (ii) the demonstration of innovative systems, tools, and applications.
The Forum sessions at the CAiSE conference aim to facilitate interaction, discussion, and exchange of ideas among presenters and participants. Contributions to the CAiSE’26 Forum are welcome to address any of the CAiSE’26 conference topics. In particular, we welcome submissions on this year’s theme: Rethinking Information System Engineering in a continuously changing information system world.
Submission types
We invite two types of submissions:
- Visionary Papers: Present innovative and forward-looking research that describes novel ideas, disruptive concepts, or emerging areas of interest that are relevant to the CAiSE community. Submissions should articulate a clear and well-motivated vision, grounded in relevant literature or preliminary insights, and outline its potential impact on research and practice. While full-scale validation is not expected for these papers, they should provide convincing arguments, illustrative examples, or initial evidence that supports the feasibility and significance of the proposed vision.
- Demo Papers: Describe innovative tools and prototypes that implement the results of research efforts. Tool papers should highlight the tool’s relevance and innovations to the CAiSE community. Each paper should include:
- A clear description of the tool’s main features and innovations to the CAiSE community.
- An assessment of the tool’s maturity (e.g., prototype, beta release, or production-ready).
- A link to a webpage where the tool can be accessed or downloaded. If access requires a license, this must be arranged in a way that preserves reviewer anonymity.
- A short video (3–5 minutes with voiceover) demonstrating the tool in action.
Both visionary papers and demo papers must not exceed 8 pages in LNCS format, including references (see the Springer authors’ guidelines). Papers should be submitted in PDF format through EasyChair by selecting the CAiSE 2026 – Forum track.
The submitted papers must be unpublished and must not be under review elsewhere.
Publication
Accepted papers will be published by Springer in a CAiSE Forum proceedings volume within the Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP) series. Authors should consult the Springer Authors Guidelines available at https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines and use their LaTeX or Word proceedings templates for preparing their papers.
Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. An Overleaf template with LNBIP proceedings is available at https://www.overleaf.com/latex/templates/templatefor-lecture-notes-in-business-information-processing-lnbip/mxswjzvrxbmt.
In addition, the corresponding author of each paper, acting on behalf of all of the authors of that paper, must complete and sign a Consent-to-Publish form. The corresponding author signing the copyright form should match the corresponding author marked on the paper. Once the files have been sent to Springer, changes relating to the authorship of the papers cannot be made.
Registration and presentation
At least one author of each accepted paper must register for CAiSE’26 and attend the conference to present their work.
- Visionary Papers will be presented either in a poster session or as short plenary presentations, depending on the number of accepted papers.
- Demo Papers will be presented in a poster session combined with live demonstrations to allow attendees to experience the tools.
This format ensures that all papers receive visibility and stimulate active discussion with the CAiSE community.
